Board of Trustees

Our Board is made up of prestige figures from the world of cooperation, the judiciary, medicine, social innovation and public management, among others. People who bring their dedication and effort so that the mission and vision of ANESVAD is reinforced in its daily work and its interventions.

This expert and committed group leads our work to make the invisible visible, by giving importance to issues that nobody cares about, by improving the Right to Health of people affected by the Neglected Tropical Diseases or are at risk of suffering them.

  • Garbiñe Biurrun. President

    Garbiñe is a Basque High Court judge and president of the court's chamber of social matters. She lectures in employment and social security law at the University of the Basque Country and has authored a number of articles on different legal issues. She is also a permanent lecturer with the Aranzadi Social Forum in Bilbao and San Sebastian and member of the Advisory Council for the Basque Language.

  • Antonio González. Vice President

    Antonio holds a primary degree in psychology. He has been the coordinator general of Médicos del Mundo (Médecins Sans Frontières) in Spain for nine years. He is currently the director of Wake App Health, which publishes health apps and works for innovation in the health sector through apps and mhealth. He was a member of the governing board of AIPC-Pandora, a non-profit organization which promotes international volunteer work and seeks to develop active and committed citizenry with values of solidarity and mutual respect.

  • Alfonso Davalillo. Secretary

    Doctor in Industrial Engineering he is currently Director of the Institutional Quality and Evaluation Service of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). For two years, from 2007 to 2009, he was also coordinator of the Quality Chair of the UPV/EHU. He was the coordinator of the Universities Forum of the Management Excellence Club and Senior Evaluator for Euskalit, the Basque Quality Foundation. He is author of different publications related to the management of services and process management in the university.

  • Iñigo Lamarca Iturbe. Deputy Secretary

    Currently lawyer of the Guipuzcoa General Assemblies after working at the University of the Basque Country as lecturer in Constitutional Law, his career is focused on his appointment as Ararteko, the Ombudsman of the Basque Country in June 2004. In 2009 he was elected by a large majority for a second mandate until 2015. As Ararteko he modernised the institution and the relations with the social organisations in order to improve the policies of the different public administrations in the field, particularly in relation to social rights. Author of many publications on human rights in general and social rights.

  • Berta Mendiguren. Member

    Berta is a researcher and expert in anthropology of health and resides in the Central African Republic. She holds a master's degree from the University of the Basque Country in International Decentralised Cooperation: Peace and Development. Analysis and Management of the Global Agenda within the framework of the United Nations System. She co-authored the report “Health and Access to Social and Health Services for the Sub-Saharan population in Catalonia”. She designed, coordinated and lectured in the First Diploma on Human Development and HIV and AIDS”, PNUD-CORRESIDA, Catholic University of Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic). Berta currently runs a social pharmacy in the Central African Republic. Honorary Spanish Consul in Central African Republic.

  • Fanny Minime-Lingoupou. Member

    Doctor in microbiology by the University of Paris and expert in Buruli ulcer, she has published numerous articles on tuberculosis and Buruli ulcer. For seven years she was in charge of the micro-bacteria laboratory of the Pasteur Institute in Bangui, in the Central African Republic (between 2006 and 2013). She is from the Central African Republic and actually, she is project manager at Angers University Hospital.
