InfoNTD: A New Digital Platform to Centralise All Relevant NTD-Related Information

One of the main obstacles in the fight to combat Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) is the lack of an up-to-date, centralised and comprehensive source of research information.

The NGO Netherlands Leprosy Relief (NLR) has launched InfoNTD, an online platform to strengthen the capacities of all kinds of professionals who are working to eliminate NTDs.

To achieve this goal, we will contribute technical and financial support to NLR’s network to help develop InfoNTD, an online platform that will make the following publicly available:

• Access to scientific and educational documents on NTDs.
• The use of specific research tools regarding the treatment and consequences of NTDs.
• Information on an intersectoral and cross-cutting approach as a method to tackle NTDs.
• A monthly review to incorporate the latest relevant publications on the subject.

This initiative will enable a greater dissemination of publications, evidence and successful practices in the fight against skin NTDs.

Making this information accessible will also encourage the development of new proposals and provide capacity-building for others working towards the same goal of eradicating NTDs.
