Goal 4
Quality education
At the Anesvad Foundation, we centre our efforts on ensuring the Right to Health in highly vulnerable contexts, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a special focus on combating Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). Our strategy aligns closely with Goal 4 as a top priority, recognising that health and education are interconnected, fundamental rights essential for human development.
We have trained 10,239 individuals [2022 data], including healthcare personnel, technicians and community leaders, in global health, NTD prevention and management. Additionally, we have invested 13.66% of our budget in training, as well as funding research projects, workshops and educational awareness campaigns.
Our work on this Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) is implemented through the following efforts:
- Training local healthcare personnel: We equip professionals and volunteers with the knowledge and skills to diagnose and treat neglected diseases, building a skilled workforce to strengthen public health systems in the countries where we operate.
- Supporting educational programmes on hygiene, prevention and health Rights: In rural communities, we empower individuals to safeguard their well-being and that of their families through education on health practices and rights.
- Developing community education activities: We aim to prevent diseases and combat the stigma and discrimination faced by those with Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). This includes workshops in schools and communities to promote respect, equality and inclusion.
- Promoting healthy school environments: We improve access to clean water, sanitation and basic infrastructure in educational facilities to support children’s continued attendance, particularly for girls and boys in vulnerable settings.
“We incorporate education as a vital tool in our health and community projects”
